Handmade Articulated Diamondback Rattlesnake Sculpture

A life-size diamondback rattlesnake, built one segment at a time — a fully dimensional, articulated metal sculpture designed to capture the length, movement, and presence of a real desert snake.

Size / Dimensions

Built at a realistic, life-size scale — typically 5–6' long when fully outstretched. Overall length can be adjusted before fabrication begins, so please contact us if you have a specific size in mind.

Material / Construction

Mixed-metal construction with steel/iron components, riveted detailing, and contrasting metallic surfaces. Each snake is built by hand from individually fabricated body segments, layered scale plates, and hand-shaped head and rattle details, creating a segmented body with a distinctive geometric diamondback pattern. It is a fully dimensional sculpture with character from every angle — not a flat cutout or garden stake.

Articulation & Pose

The body is articulated, so it can be repositioned into different curves and poses after placement — stretched through a garden bed, curved around a boulder, or loosely coiled. When repositioning, move the body gradually and support several sections at once rather than pulling on a single segment.

Finish

Premium Outdoor Clear Coat: a heavier-duty, glossy automotive-grade finish for the strongest available protection outdoors. Because the sculpture combines multiple metals and moving sections, long-term outdoor exposure will still naturally affect the surface over time.

Pose & Fabrication Preferences

Every rattlesnake is individually fabricated, so the exact pose, coil, and appearance of your piece will naturally vary from the photos. If you have preferences, contact us before or after ordering to talk them through, including:

- Other reasonable fabrication preferences

Where It Works

Desert and xeriscape gardens, cactus and agave beds, courtyards, entryways, pool landscapes, and contemporary Southwest interiors. The articulated body is especially effective winding through a landscape rather than laid out in a straight line.

Display / Mounting

This is a freestanding dimensional sculpture, not wall art, and does not require mounting.

Every rattlesnake is fabricated, assembled, and finished by hand in our Tucson, Arizona shop.

- Each rattlesnake is individually fabricated and assembled by hand, so segment positioning, scale pattern, coloration, and surface character will vary from piece to piece and from the photos.
- This is a dimensional freestanding sculpture, not wall art.
- Support multiple body sections when repositioning. Do not drag or lift the sculpture by the head, tail, rattle, or a single articulated section.
- Outdoor exposure will naturally alter metal surfaces over time. Even clear-coated metal may eventually develop oxidation if the finish becomes scratched, worn, or damaged.
- Production time may vary depending on length, articulation, fabrication complexity, finishing, and current shop schedule.
- Colors may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.

Standard shipping within the continental U.S. is included in the listed price. Local pickup in Tucson is available by prior arrangement.
