About us

For more than 45 years in Tucson, our father-and-son team has embraced the unique beauty of the Sonoran Desert, channeling it into our steel art. Each piece is hand-crafted with durability and authenticity in mind, using the highest quality materials designed to endure the desert climate. We take pride in working closely with our clients on custom designs, ensuring that each creation becomes a unique and personal part of their landscape, patio, or indoor space.

    • All of our work is crafted by us in our shop located in Catalina, Arizona. We handle every step personally—from purchasing the steel to hauling, cutting, fabricating, and shipping.

    • All designs and design components are formulated and developed by us. Some are entirely original, while some may take inspiration from other works or images.

    • Our intent is always to create something as original as possible and true to our vision.

    • We have never purchased a design component, and likely never will.

    • Most of our work is the result of following our passion for the many sights of the Sonoran Desert.

    • Many of our pieces come from customer requests and custom work that we’ve adapted to be usable by anyone, but absolutely everything we create is because we love it and love to see it displayed proudly.

    • Yes! We love doing custom work, and seeing others’ visions made real. Please inquire from the CONTACT US link at the top banner.

    • Across our lineup, we have pieces that are intended to be free-standing, flat items that go best on a wall, and dimensional items that extend into the space toward the viewer. Generally, each item type will be staged best with the following:

    1. On-Base or Free-Standing - Weights or stakes

    2. Flat - Holes are pre-placed on most flat items for screws/nails.

    3. Dimensional/Layered - By default, we leave the backs of these pieces flat, intended for compatibility with strong magnets, for a clean, quick, and simple mounting process. Other styles of mounting are possible, please inquire if you have specific needs.

    • If this is a concern, please contact us before or quickly after purchasing for a solution. We can seal the back of the piece for you and/or advise you on how to easily seal it yourself.

Learn about our finishes

  • Ready to Rust
    Crafted with care, rusted, and left without a seal. This finish is a starter rust patina to give a head start to the process that will develop over time into a beautiful, ever-changing organic rust.

    Note: Some customers need their pieces sent to them ready to be welded to their existing structures, or to be painted. In these cases, simply contact us before or shortly after purchasing and we’ll make a note to leave the piece prepped and without any rust.

  • Durability and Affordability

    A coat that will resist the outdoor elements well and is suitable for indoors as well for the best price. Final look will be a light, glossy sheen.

  • Built to Endure

    Our durable, automotive-grade clear coat is made to withstand the harsh desert sun for years. For added protection, the unexposed back is sealed with a light clear coat for a complete seal.
